Things to know before doing a juice cleanse

 

*During any type of cleanse or detox it is important to know that you may experience some mild detox symptoms such as feeling a bit fatigue, headaches, nauseous, bloating, frequent bathroom visits, and lots of CRAVINGS! When you make a sudden change to your diet your body will start to notice the difference. Specially if you went from a really poor diet that consists of caffeine, sugars and tons of processed foods. It’s almost like our bodies are going through a withdrawal from all the junk we are used to feeding it. Just remember that these are all common and will pass. They are all normal signs of the detox and your body eliminating toxins.

*Remember during the juice cleanse we are only consuming nothing but the fresh juice and water. Like I said before, this is something very different than what we are used to eating the whole day. And the amount of food we consume in a day is not the same when we are doing the cleanse. This is a time to heal, rest and fuel ourselves with tons of vitamins and nutrients we normally don’t get, while giving our digestive system a break. So please remember to take it easy during the amount of days you choose to do the cleanse for. Don’t go so hard at the gym or on any activity you are doing. Listen to your body and rest when you need to, as this will help with increasing any of the symptoms.

*Do not go crazy and over eat before doing this cleanse! Eating a healthy solid meal a day before you start the juice cleanse will also help with some of the symptoms.

*There is no right amount of juice to drink within the day. Listen to your body and if you are hungry drink more juice! if you’re too full and can’t seem to finish it, don’t force it! Everyone is different so only make as much as you feel will be just right for you.

*Stay hydrated! And drink plenty of water!

*Once you finish the cleanse, resist the need to binge! I know at this time you might be craving everything! But don’t forget why you did this cleanse in the first place. Think of it as a new beginning and a sense of a fresh start and continue to make healthier choices for yourself. Something that helps me is making a plan and creating small goals for my self during my cleanse, that once its all done I’m excited to get back on track and work towards these goals!
